Efficiently Removes Moisture
The dehumidifier is excellent at water removal. It expels moisture from the ambient air quickly and effectively, which is great if you plan to spend a lot of time in a particular room.
Big Capacity for its Size
The Frigidaire FAD704DWD model has one of the largest collection buckets of the 70-pint dehumidifiers on the market; it tests at roughly 16 pints. The advantage here is that you will empty its bucket less often than you would do with similar competitor units.
Here we have one of the quietest dehumidifiers available today. It has a low "hum," much like a refrigerator. Having a low noise output is important if you want to concentrate on readings your mags in the man cave!
Excellent Customer Feedback about Reliability
There are numerous consumer reviews online that discuss the excellent reliability of this Frigidaire dehumidifier. Reviewers discuss how the variety of features that all work as they should and how the dehumidifier reliably removes excess moisture in the air. These reviews are for months throughout the year, which shows the unit is advantageous to have throughout the year.
At the current price of only $219.99, this unit is excellent value! It not only works efficiently to whisk away moisture, as a dehumidifier should do, but it has an amazingly large capacity for water, is reliable, quiet, and durable. It has a great performance overall, without costing you $300.
The drawbacks, though, of the FAD704DWD model from Frigidaire are:
The Frigidaire model does not have a built-in pump system. The benefit of a pump is that you can drain the water from an elevated location. However, you can buy a condensate pump separately if you do want one. Note: If the pump were to be included with this model, it would likely cost about $50 more than the current price.
No Defrost Mode
Unfortunately, the dehumidifier does not have an auto defrost mode, which some people may want for their unit. It does have Frost Control, though.
Cold Room Performance Issues
In a room that drops below 41 degrees Fahrenheit, this unit struggles to deliver optimal performance. If the temperature is higher than this level, though, the unit works very well and reliably so.
